Remington 1187 barrel seal activator

Having never had the new parts, in the right place, the illustration in the manual did not help. MG if you look at my pictures you can tell the parts you should have. I would check the barrel seal as well as the activator. Also, as Shorthair pointed out, there is an illustration on pg.

Harrison- thanks. I appreciate it, but I knew those schematics were there. They are the same images that are in the manual. And, actually, are labelled incorrectly. Here is the pic that shows what the manual picture looks like and then a picture of the actual parts. Makes it very hard to not only make sure you have the right parts, but also to tell which way is up….

I figured they would work so I decided to take the SPS barrel and put it on my The shorter barrels under 26" have two regular gas ports like the old barrels so I thought it might work.

The shorter barrels are intended for heavy loads like on my P so I wasn't sure if it would work on my I put the activator ring on the and it has worked fine ever since. The ring goes on after the gas rings but before the seal rubber ring and the barrel is installed. I think it may work in two ways but I am not certain. I also think it decreases the volume of space between the gas ports and the gas rings or ring which increases the initial gas pulse on the bolt carrier so a liter load will still create enough of a pulse to start the bolt unlocking.

I would work with the activator ring first before messing with the ejector. I was sure someone would say "do a search" too but my search came up with everything about the activator but its exact placement on the tube in relation to the other parts. I just picked up a police model barrel on Ebay and it should be just what I need.

I can't find my instruction book and can't figure out how to get to the gas rings off, even after reading the instructions. Can anyone instruct me on how to break down an The front stock and mag tube are off.
