Scanning once a day, or even once every few days, would be just fine. How do I stop this annoying Norton habit? Disable the setting below. That should stop the prompts for scanning. Also disable the removable media setting shown in the screenshot as well.

I made the excluded folder and disabled both the smart firewall and antivirus autoprotect. I can trick Norton to let me start the download but Norton stops the download right away.
